PRESIDENT’S LETTER

Thank you to all of our friends in the Strongsville community for your generosity and support of the Strongsville City Club.

As it has been since 1968, the Club’s objective is to cultivate and promote civic interests for the city of Strongsville. We are proud to have been part of the community success for over 50 years and are looking forward to another 50!

City Club members, their families and amazing volunteers donate countless hours to support our two annual community events. We kick off the summer season, as we have each summer since 1986, on the Commons with the Rib Burn-Off. This three-day event brings the community together to enjoy live entertainment along with fantastic food, including rib vendors from around the country. “Not the biggest, just the best” is the motto of the Rib Burn-Off.

As summer winds down, the City Club invites the community to join each other for Breakfast on the Covered Bridge. Since the first breakfast served in 1983, the tradition of a leisurely morning spent with friends enjoying a home-cooked breakfast in a beautiful setting is a great way to spend a September morning before heading off to the Day at the Chalet or to a Browns game!

More than 20 years ago, the City Club provided the vision and funding for Strongsville’s landmark Clock Tower on the Commons. The Clock Tower is a beacon of civic pride for all Strongsville residents and those passing through the Route 82-Pearl Road intersection. Some of our other major projects include funding for Catan Stadium, the Food Bank, the Strongsville Cemetery fence, Pandrangi Tower at Southwest General Health Center, and the Strongsville Town Center Project.

Most importantly, City Club members hold a loving place in our hearts for the Strongsville Special Olympics athletes and their families. We proudly fund their various events throughout the year and are so proud of their success and living the credo of Special Olympics, “Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.”

More information about our events and projects can be found on these pages. City Club members thank the residents of Strongsville, our sponsors, our families, and countless volunteers as well as the surrounding communities for their fantastic support of our efforts.

Thank you,

Brian Jungeberg
